Hi, I am printing 2 large black and white prints with large expanses of solid black on smooth matte fine art paper on the Epson 9900 using the Epson driver. I am getting very regular horizontal banding. The print heads are clean, and the banding is to broad to be caused by malfunctioning heads.. When horizontal banding appears or the top or bottom of the paper is smeared, load paper in the correct direction and slide the edge guides to the edges of the paper. When vertical banding appears or the paper is smeared, clean the paper path. You may need to refill the ink. Visually check the ink levels

I have been getting horizontal banding in my cyan when printing. First I thought it was due to a clogged inkjet, but after cleaning and testing I see that the light cyan has an alignment issue. . It has both vertical and horizontal banding problems. It was originally purchased in 2003 by a NASA facility in Virginia. I have no maintenance information on the printer. When I received it, it had Epson pigment inks installed. I ran a nozzle test on it and it was perfect. I have since installed piezography inks to produce positives and negatives. Horizontal banding just started on a 7900 (<600 pages printed) unless I print at 2880dpi. I have performed both auto and manual head alignment, cleaned heads (regular & power cycles), have a good nozzle test, tried slower and faster page feed (no effect). Happens with both roll and sheet paper and regardless of black ink (PK or MK) used. Both BW and Color prints show banding. The LLK pattern.

Epson workforce WF-7620 a couple of years old. I cannot seem to get the printing to be clear and without smudges. I have just put a new cartridge in and I got the same result. The print pattern has one area where there is no line horizontally for part of that line and down the left hand side of the pattern the edging line disappears.
